The Swiss Health Care System: A Model for Quebec
Claude Ruey holds a Bachelor's degree in political science and a Ph.D in law from the University of Lausanne. He is now President of the Swiss Liberal Party and serves as one of its National Advisors. He is also Chairman of the Board of the Association of Swiss Health and Accident Insurers (COSAMA). He served, from 1994 to 1998, as a State Councillor for the Canton de Vaud's minister of Public health and Interior.
Mr. Ruey's lecture will focus on the Swiss healthcare system, particularly on the role of the private sector in financing and delivering health care services. His presentation will identify the many advantages of competition and decentralization vis-à-vis creating access to care.
