Crimes against Humanity at Tripoli Central Hospital
Human Rights Solidarity (HRS) obtained disturbing information from reliable sources concerning the involvement of the management of the Tripoli Central Hospital, located at Az Zawiyah Street, in criminal acts which can be regarded as crimes against humanity:
Refusal to hand over bodies of citizens killed, by the security forces of al-Qaddafi regime, to their families for proper burial,
Removal of bodies to undisclosed location and unknown fate,
Removal of injured patients to undisclosed locations and unknown fate.
These criminal acts have driven citizens, who sustained injuries in clashes, not to go to hospitals in fear of kidnapping and unknown fate.
The available information obtained by HRS indicates that these criminal acts are directed personally by Dr. Ehtuish, a leading member of the Revolutionary Committees Movement. Also, Dr. el-Barouni is implicated in these crimes because of his position as Director of the hospital.
HRS calls on International Organizations, organizations & guilds of medical professionals to condemn these crimes, demand the prompt disclosure of the fate of those who have been taken from the hospital and prosecute the perpetrators.
