Muy interesante galería de fotos de Medio Oriente antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial (visto en Recortes).

No se preocupen, no son de Reuters. Estas son en serio.

The titles are sometimes funny, not to say misleading... :-)

    Some funny examples:
"Jewish Arab riots, 1920" - "riots" is a soft word for the 1928 and 1936 pogroms that the Arabs executed in the defenseless "Jewish settlers".

"Jewish settlers at a beach" - this is extremely funny. What does the writer mean by "Jewish settlers"? How can he tell that the people on the beach are "Jewish"? They probably are, but the title sounds awful. Can you imagine a title like "Christians on the beach?" as a title for Argentinean vacationers...?

"Bedouin woman" is another funny title. The woman is absolutely not a Bedouin. At most - she is wearing a Bedouin dress, disguised as a Bedouin woman. It looks like a Carnival costume, more than a real attempt to look like a Bedouin woman - the head and the face are absolutely not of a Bedouin woman, but a European-origin woman. I guess, a 'Jewish settler' ;-).

    And so on :-)
