Camino a Argentina

Official inflation rates from the Central Statistical Office were hovering around 6,000-7,000% per month in the summer of 2007 after strongman Robert Mugabe instituted price freezes. However, in reality they were probably much higher and the rate for the year will be astronomical - it is officially over 100,000%. As an example, the price of bread in December, 2006 was about $Z 325 and in December, 2007 it stood at over $Z 1,000,000 - and these are the government controlled prices. As of February, 2008 the official price of bread stood at $Z 3,300,000. And it will only get worse as Mugabe throws tantrum after tantrum and bleeds his country to death. On April, 3rd 2008 The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe issued new 25 Million and 50 Million dollar notes.
